The Lake Maxinkuckee Project

• Two lacrosse coaches had too much time together on the team bus. One coach taught math, and the other coach taught science.

• They cooked up this project and used it with classes in Fall '03.

• The idea was that Biology classes would collect data, and an Algebra 1 class would analyze the data.

• These classes had almost no students in common.

• The project really drove the curriculum, and it worked pretty well.

• This project will be the topic of a presentation at the NCTM regional in Minneapolis (November 2004).
